DC Continuing Education Requirements

DC veterinarians need 36 credit hours for the renewal cycle — this includes 2 credit hours of LGBTQ courses and 3.6 (4) hours of public health related courses. The remaining hours are allocated for veterinary medicine courses. Please see below for a list of possible LGBTQ and public health courses.

*These courses are NOT endorsed by the DCVMA, just simply intended to be a helpful resource to get you started.

*This list is not comprehensive and there are other CE opportunities available.

You can see a list of approved public health categories for CE credit linked here.

*When registering for the course, some of these courses do not have veterinarian as a listed profession. We have been told by the licensing board for veterinarians to select a different profession, such as nurse/nurse assistant or any other general/relevant option in order to generate a certificate. If you have questions, please contact the veterinary licensing board
